I do have the same problem. I tried an installation Repair, but to no avail. I tried to Remove it and then re-install, still to no avail. I'm out of solutions now :-( :smileysad: Coudl anyone help me with this. Alternatively, if you can give me the service parameters, I can set it up manually. Thanx in advance.

Not OOTB, AFAIK. Though we implemented a solution on top of RefMan which synchronizes references from the RefMan database with a Documentum repository. We had to develop a special component for this: a service which periodically retrieves new or modified references from RefMan, through the RefMan WebService (a component of the WebPublisher), and which synchronizes them with Documentum documents. At the same time, it creates special link URLs in the RefMan record, that make possible to retrieve or manage the document in Documentum. The same technique would work with any other third party system, like SharePoint or any database, for example. However this require skills in software development. We used Java as programming language, but any other language providing a WebService (SOAP) API is possible, which means approximately 100% of the existing programming languages.

I think you will find, after making the obvious adjustments, that the instructions near the bottom of this page will work just as well for Ref Man as for Endnote. http://libraryfit.wordpress.com/2009/10/21/endnote-tips-tricks/

This is a recent problem a colleague and I have spotted when we try to open RefMan 12 libraries on our laptops. We have no problem using RefMan12 at work (using Windows Vista Business) but whenever we try to open RM12 libraries sent as email attachments, our home laptops confuse the RM12 rmx files as Real Media files. This even happens when trying to open the files from within RefMan12. Any ideas or suggestions ? Thanks in advance.

Greetings Kate, As you've mentioned, both Reference Manager and Real Player use the .rmx file extension. Depending on which program was last launched, the icons for these files may change. Although the icon changes, the data within the file itself will not be affected. When attempting to launch the Reference Manager database, you'd want to do so from the "File" menu inside Reference Manager, or by double clicking on the .rmd file associated with the database. Please let me know if this helps. Best Regards, Jimmy M. Customer Technical Support Representative Scientific Thomson Reuters Phone: +1 800 336 4474 ResearchSoft Product Support thomsonreuters.com
