I checked Reference Manager addin files in Word.
My problem was due to TechSmith's SnagIt software Word addin. I renamed the file "SnagIt Add-in.dot" in "C:\Program Files\TechSmith\SnagIt 7" directory to "SnagIt Add-in.dotted" and everything is fine.
Regards and good luck.

Dear Karim
Acrobat does not cause any conflict with Reference Manager, I've had them running side by side in Word for several years, so you don't need to uninstall Acrobat.
It was only when I had Macromedia Contribute installed on my pc that I found that my Reference Manager toolbar stopped working. It took a bit of digging around to discover that installing Contribute caused the problem as it installed this other pdf writer (Flashpaper) addin into Word which conflicts with the Reference Manager toolbar. This was confirmed by the technical support team at Adept Scientific - the main UK vendor of Reference Manager. Have you tried contacting your vendor's technical support team?
Kind regards
Patti Biggs
