There seems to be a bug or two in the 10.0.1 search screen (which one can
access by hitting F4).
In 9.5, you could press F3 to get the drop-down list (needed more often than
you might think; the field names and abbreviations are different for PubMed
and RM databases themselves). Unfortunately, this isn't working in 10.0.1.
In 9.5, you could type the hot-key letter for the field name. Reference
Manager would insert the field and move you to the next section. Example: A
[author]. That isn't working, either.
In 10.0.1, type the first letter of the field you want; continue to press
that letter to get other options beginning with that letter. You will cycle
through the part of the list beginning with that letter.
If you type a second letter, you will get the first item with those two
letters, but it won't let you cycle: AU will get you "Authors" (all author
fields) but won't cycle you through "Author, primary" etc.
I really can't imagine why they would purposefully disable F3 under F4. RIS,
could you please fix this? It's really a problem for those of us trying to
avoid mousing and RSI!

Hi Karyn,
Sounds like the search list hasn't been customised for version 10.
Go into Tools and click on Options. Click on the Retrieval Tab.
Under Field Search List, click next to Customized, then click the
Customize button to the right of this.
Here you can set up whichever fields you wish to search on and re- arrange
them to suit (eg, if you search on Journal name more than
Author name, then put Journal at the top of the list to save you having
to scroll down each time). You can also setup shortcut keys here (eg,
A for Author).
F3 works fine for me (??!!) Not sure what the problem is !
Regards
Sally
