Thanks to everybody for their rapid replies and advice. I turned off the
instant formatting option when I opened a new word file. I copied my text
into the new file. The problem of the "jumping cursor" seems to have
disappeared. Since I am new to the program, I assume that I should simply
turn on instant formatting when I finished my paper? Also, with the
unformatted citations, will I be able to put specific page numbers in my
reference? I am still concerned about incompatibility issues between
reference manager and Dragon NaturallySpeaking 7.3 preferred edition.
Thanks,
Richard

Hello again,
See (in Word), Tools-Reference Manager 10-Cite While You Write Preferences
and uncheck the "Enable instant formatting....."option.
Maybe better:
Backup your document x times. Take one backup copy and open it in Word and
via menu Tools-Reference Manager X-Revert to original text. Try it again.
If not successful, take another backup and choose via same menu section
"Remove field codes". Be sure that you don't need to manipulate references
since all hidden codes will be removed and all references will loose their
links with the database.
The last option could be useful if you need to change the text and not the
citations.
Best regards,

Subject: <RefMan> deleting generated bibliography in Word
Hello:
I have another problem (and my apologies are extended in advance if these
seem like obvious questions). I'm working in Word 2003. I also use Dragon
NaturallySpeaking 7.3 preferred edition. I'm working on a paper, and I
generated the bibliography using cite while you write. However, after I
generated the bibliography, the voice recognition program became more
erratic: the cursor often jumped to the start of my document. It is hard to
explain, but the problem appears related to the generated bibliography. I
tried to delete the bibliography following the instructions in the Refman
manual, but the bibliography keeps reappearing after a few minutes. In other
files, without a generated bibliography, the problem with the voice
recognition software doesn't occur. I haven't been able to get any help
from the Dragon newsgroup with respect to that part of the problem. However,
I would like to figure out how to delete my generated bibliography.
Thanks, Richard
