I'm trying to finally organize all my papers on PDF and so am using this
field for the first time. However, when I manually enter the file path, it
thinks it is a URL and says it can't find it. What am I missing? entered
text: c:\papers\gastric vs post pyloric feeding Thanks!

Try adding <.pdf> at the end of the file path.

If you will right-click in the empty Link to PDF field, you can select
"Insert file." This will take you to a file browse window so you can locate
your pdf file and click Open. It will insert the clickable file link into
the RefMan records.

make sure you put the ".pdf" (without quotes) extension at the end of your
link.

Julia,

Right click on the icon next to Link to PDF and select Insert File from the
menu that appears. This brings up a search box where you can then navigate
to the file.

If "c:\papers\gastric vs post pyloric feeding" is the path to the directory
with the pdf file in it, that should work. It does for me with this path:
"E:\Acrobat Downloads\Lancet". The quotes are for readability only, they
are not required on my system (NT4).

I'd suggest checking for typo's, especially punctuation and spaces.

Spaces didn't bother me, and a reference to a directory works fine.
