SOAP Service Problem
Author: Lyly Yonkwa    Posted: Fri, 19 Jan 2007 19:44:59 -0500

Hi All,

I am trying to access the Reference Manager SOAP Web Service using
VB.Net and Java ( I tried both because I was having problems). It seems
like both languages don't recognize the the ComplexType <xs:complexType
name="List"> used in the WSDL document, particularly the <xs:restriction
base="soapenc:Array">.

Using VB.Net, when I open the WDSL file I have the following warning
message "Namespace http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/' is not
available to be referenced in this schema.
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\WebPublisher\RSSoapServices.wsdl Line 9, Line 10", I
have ignored the message and I have created the proxy class required to
access the webservice, but all methods that return <xs:complexType
name="List"> are throwing an SOAPException with the message "Service
Error: Generic". All other simple methods work just fine.

I also tried to call the Service using Java language features, All
methods that return the List as type are not recognized at all, other
methods work fine.
Did anyone tried using the RM SOAP Service with success, if yes, how did
you do?
Does anyone having the same problem?
Does anyone have an idea about how to solve the problem I mentioned
earlier?

Any suggestion is welcome

RE: SOAP Service Problem
Author: Paul Matthews    Posted: Fri, 2 Feb 2007 19:28:58 -0500

Hi there

I bashed my head against this for a bit before I gave up. I was trying
to connect using Visual Studio 2003/RM11 and the updated WSDL file I
downloaded from Adept. I also got SOAP errors and tried tweaking the
WSDL, but didn't quite get there. If anyone else has got this working
I'd also like to hear about it.
