Searching imported references

I have a problem searching references imported into RefMan (11.01) from
a library system and from MS Access. The system does not search them,
but the search function starts to work after I open the referece, add a
string (space or anything else), delete it again and then save the
reference. I have to do in all fields.
Is there any way how to do it globally - so that I would not have to go
through all references? This would save me days of clicking.
