I create synonyms when I put the items with diacritics in - this is a
bit difficult for journals and I do find the lack of space for
additional journal synonyms a problem.
Fo authors I probably go over the top, crating synonyms for
double-barrelled names, and for ones with more than the Medline-standard
number of initials, as I have less-experienced searchers, and I want to
make sure they find all the relevant papers, but also want the correct
version of the author names when citing papers.
However, the creating synonyms is quite a hassle - it would be much
better if RM could deal with the equivalence of diacritics in the search
program - something for the next version perhaps?
