Hello,
One of our patrons reported an error while searching the Web of Science
Database via the internet search option in Reference Manager 10.
The error " http 404 not found" appears when attempting to execute a
search.
Any Idea how this can be explained and, hopefully, remedied?

Accessing the ISI Web of Science requires a subscription to that service.
Even if your library has an institutional suscription, you still need to
make sure the library's IP address is included in the ISI's list of verified
IP addresses.

It means the web page you were trying to load wasn't available. It could be
the server was busy or the link was dead and the page has been taken down.
It has nothing to do per se with RM. It's a browser/webpage error.

Hello.
FYI, Web of Science is the MOST expensive database purchased by
libraries, costing over $100,000 a year for a single user web
license. The publisher holds a monopoly on this product without any
competition. Many libraries can't afford or having to discontinue or
decrease the number of simultaneous userthis database as the prices for
journals esclate.
