Hi Ruth,
Adding page numbers can be done in a couple of ways. The easiest is to
use the suffix option within Refman. Click on the citation for which you
want to add a page number, select 'Edit Citation' and then 'Suffixes'.
Use a spacce and enter the correct abbreviation for 'page', a space, and
then the page number(s).
You will continue to have difficulties if you try to edit from Word
while the reference is highlighted in gray.

Are you editing in Reference Manager, or via "edit citations" in Word?
Editing in Reference Manager should be faster - and a database of
500-600 references is not big enough to slow it down.
With that many citations in a document however, having "instant
formatting"
switched on will slow down Word considerably, so it may be better to
only generate the bibliography occasionally. Maybe you could break the
thesis into chapters in the short term, and only bring them together at
the end?
500 cited references is a lot - so the programs are likely to struggle a
bit. It may also be worth closing all the other windows that are open,
to give maximum space for the computer to work on the bibliography
generation.
Hope this helps
Best wishes

Subject: <RefMan> Slow
Hi,
I am writing up my PhD and my document has about 500 references. I
find
that Ref Manager is very slow when I edit a reference, and in print
mode
my document keeps crashing while repaginating. Can anyone help?
