Suat,
Thank you so much you. It worked. I had to go through your steps 3 - 8 about 5 times but eventually word put the whole document into UK English (which I need because I use Autocorrect based on UK English all the time). Now when I click to insert a reference it does so in seconds rather than minutes. It still takes about a minutes, however, to put in the citation. I have also had a problem when working in print layout with word repaginating and crashing every time I edit a citation. Any suggestion?
Ruth

Hi Ruth,
In some cases this might help:
1. Make backups of your original document 2. Open the backup document 3. Edit-Select all (Ctrl-A) 4. Extra/Tools-Language-Set Language 5. Set language to "English (U.S.)"
6. Check "Do not check spelling and grammar"
7. Uncheck "Detect language automatically"
8. Ok
On some systems Word is switching "language" in certain documents. This has helped some of our customers to get rid of "freezing" of the document.
In your case it could also be helpful if you would uncheck "Scan for temporary citations" and "Check for citation changes" via the Reference Manager CWYW preferences in Word.
Good luck!

Hi,
I am writing up my PhD and my document has about 500 references. I find that Ref Manager is very slow when I edit a reference, and in print mode my document keeps crashing while repaginating. Can anyone help?

Subject: <RefMan> specifying the database in Web Publisher
Hi all,
I'm new to the list and Web Publisher and was wondering if anyone knows how to create a URL for Web Publisher that would let me specify the database so that my users will only be searching one of two possible databases. I know how to specify the advanced search screen which I also want to use with the specific db. I have one community who will use one database and a completely different community who will use the other and it will only confuse them to have both available.
regards
