I think the idea of looking for word patches is worth trying - thanks

This sounds like a Microsoft Word problem, not a Reference Manager problem.
I routinely use databases of over 2000 citations without the slow-down you mention, but have experienced the lock-up you describe when integrating with WORD documents. In each case those have been due to Microsoft problems, not Refman problems. Make sure you have the latest Microsoft patches in place, assuming that you are using MS Office products. If that does not take care of it, then try resetting your computer to an earlier time prior to when you began to experience this slow-down.

Hi,

I am writing up my PhD and my document has about 500 references. I find that Ref Manager is very slow when I edit a reference, and in print mode my document keeps crashing while repaginating. Can anyone help?

Hello David,

I do not know if you ever received a response to this. I've done exactly what you describe, so if interested in more information please e-mail me directly.

Best regards
Troels

Subject: <RefMan> specifying the database in Web Publisher

Hi all,

I'm new to the list and Web Publisher and was wondering if anyone knows how to create a URL for Web Publisher that would let me specify the database so that my users will only be searching one of two possible databases. I know how to specify the advanced search screen which I also want to use with the specific db. I have one community who will use one database and a completely different community who will use the other and it will only confuse them to have both available.

regards

Product Reviews

"Overall, Reference Manager is an excellent citation manager. It is simple enough to be used out of the box and not too intimidating for a new user. Equally, though, it contains enough powerful features and customisation to satisfy advanced users."
Information World Review

"It's highly recommended for anyone needing a powerful reference tool."
