Hi Guys,
Having difficulty determining how to use ProCite to create the following:
Paragraph:
In the aftermath, we [footnote insert here] have seen fellow citizens
left stunned and uprooted, searching for loved ones, and grieving for
the dead and looking for meaning in a tragedy that seems so blind and
random.
Footnote:
Ben, K. (2004, September). Using Procite 5.0. Journal of Imagination, 7
(2), 14-16.
How can I generate this using ProCite? The procedure I have tried is
(MS Word) Insert Footnote, insert citation(ProCite Tools), and generate
bibliography (ProCite Tools).
Thanks in advance for your help.

Karl, I don't think ProCite ever generates the bibliography into a footnote.
I too was unable to get it to put the reference anywhere but at the end of
the document. Your subject line leads me to say this: I do have Karen
Drake's updated APA formats & workforms, if you would like those. They are
on the web at http://czresearch.com/pcstyle/. I can set you up with FTP
access if you write to me off-list. -Laurel

You can get a "bibliographic" citation in a footnote (or anywhere in
the text). You just modify the In-Text Citations setting in the
relevant style. Below is my reply to Karl Ben.
What you will get in your footnote is the "In-Text Citations" setting
for Journal Article, producing "(Ben, 2004)". To get the
"Bibliography" output in the footnote you would have to edit (a copy
of) the APA Style, copy the Definition from the Bibliography setting
for Journal Article, and paste it into the In-Text Citations
Definition for Journal Article. Then when you insert the citation in
the footnote you will get something like {Ben 2004 #nnnn} and
generate bibliography will put the citation in the footnote. To
suppress the entry in the bibliography at the end of the document use
the /h switch when you insert the citation like this [ben 2004 /h].
To get ProCite to produce "2004, September" you will have to input
the date in the database record in m/d/yyyy format and then in the
Definition you press the Configure Fields button and configure date
field 20.

Hi there!
I was wondering if anyone can help me. I've having trouble converting a
ref manager file into a procite file. I reach the screen that says "do you
wish to convert this database", I click yes and then is says it cannot open
the file and to try a different application. I have both the rmd and rmx
ref manager files. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Safina

That's what happened to me in converting ProCite
to EndNote. Attached is the response I got from
Technical Support Thomson ISI ResearchSoft when I
asked the question.

This list does not accept attachments but I will
send the RIS ProCite OutPut Style file to anyone
who wants it.
