**** PRESS RELEASE ****
Research Information Systems Announces Availability of
BookWhere Pro Version for Reference Manager(R)
For Immediate
Release
Research Information Systems (RIS) has announced that BookWhere Pro,
the software program used to search library catalogs via the Internet,
can now export references directly to Reference Manager databases and
may be purchased directly from RIS.
David Kochalko, president of RIS, states "The Reference Manager and
BookWhere Pro combination provides a complete solution to managing
bibliographic references obtained from library collections on the
Internet. BookWhere Pro is a simple to use program that offers
impressive results for Reference Manager users. For some time, our
ProCite(R) users have enjoyed this feature in BookWhere Pro, and we
are pleased to provide a link to these same library databases for our
Reference Manager users."
BookWhere Pro, produced by Sea Change Corporation, searches libraries
across the Internet for research materials, including technical
reports, patents, conference proceedings, monographs, and virtually
all information catalogued by libraries. BookWhere Pro allows you to
access hundreds of library collections including the Library of
Congress, Penn State Library, Stanford University Library and the
University of California-Melvyl System Library. With BookWhere Pro,
you can search multiple catalogs simultaneously and perform
sophisticated searches using a simple graphical user interface. Once
records are retrieved, BookWhere Pro downloads and displays them.
Selected records can be highlighted and sent directly to a Reference
Manager database.
Reference Manager is Research Information Systems' popular
bibliographic database management program used by researchers and
scientists world-wide. One of the most tedious tasks in publishing
papers is generating and reformatting bibliographies, something word
processors were never designed to do. Using Reference Manager with
your word processor, you can generate properly formatted manuscripts
and bibliographies for publication in seconds. Using Reference
Manager, you can automatically produce a manuscript with the author
and year format for in-text citations as required by a journal plus
you can generate the bibliography, also properly formatted, based on
the citations embedded in the manuscript.
David Kochalko adds, "Introducing BookWhere Pro to our users is an
important first step in our plans to enhance the ways in which
Reference Manager works with the Internet and with the important
information resources that are available on the World Wide Web.
Offering BookWhere Pro is consistent with RIS' longstanding practice
of providing tools for importing references into Reference Manager."
For many years, RIS has provided its Capture program for importing
data from all major commercial bibliographic database services. Based
on repeated requests from the user community, RIS has also released
the Data Conversion Capture program as a free utility to anyone
interested in importing their bibliographic databases into Reference
Manager from EndNote(R) and other programs.
BookWhere Pro is available from RIS for $99.00 (plus tax and shipping
charges). Order BookWhere Pro with Reference Manager before November
15, and pay only $69.00 for BookWhere Pro (plus tax). For further
information about BookWhere Pro, ProCite, Reference Manager, or the
Data Conversion Capture, please contact:
