Vasilis,
Check your procite help feature under switches where I found the information
below (under the dashes). I've used the /d /pt and /ft switches and they do
work. As I recall, I had to insert the citation then unformat it to add the
switch. Then, when I built the bibliography, they were as desired.
-------------------------
Use these switches with identifying text to add to or override the in-text
citation format.
/h = hide in-text citation
/d = suppress author names to print date only
/pt = print preceding text
/ft = print following text
Use the /h switch to suppress the in-text citation. The reference appears in
the bibliography, but the in-text citation appears only if citations are
represented by numbers. For example, (Dressler, 1997/h) would not appear
within the text of your manuscript but will format as part of the
bibliography.
Use the /d switch to suppress author names. For citations that require year
only, type the author name as part of your manuscript text and, when
entering identifying text to link the citation, include the switch to
suppress the author name when formatting. For example, (Lewis, 1993/d) can
print as (1993).
Use the /pt switch to print additional text before the citation. For
example, (Tocqueville, 1976 /pt "See also") can print as (See also
Tocqueville, 1976).
Use the /ft switch to print following text after the citation. For example,
(Huntington, 1993 /ft ":25-29") can print as (Huntington, 1993:25-29).

Subject: in-text citations
Hello,
I have two questions regarding in-text citations.
1) How can I "hide" the author name from an in-text citation and print
only the date? For example I would like to have something like:
"According to Smith et al. (2005) the results are." but all I get is:
"According to (Smith et al., 2005) the results are." or "According to Smith
et al. (Smith et al., 2005) the results are.", which is not what I need.
I found in Help that I can use the "/d" switch. I tried it but it doesn't
seem to work.
I must note that I need this for some citations only and not for all of them
(for most of the citations it would be the normal, ie (Smith et al., 2005))
2) I have multiple citations from the same (first) author. I end up with
something like this in the text: (Smith et al., 2000; Smith et al., 2001a;
Smith et al., 2001b; Smith et al., 2005). What I look for is to have
something like this: (Smith et al., 2000; 2001a; 2001b; 2005), that is to
have the name printed only for the first citation and then the dates only.
Can this be achieved?
Thank you in advance.
Cheers
Vasilis
