Dear List-eners,
In two weeks I can find out myself... however, ...is it possible to
display Reference web poster on a website without this very decent LOGO
which occupies about half of the size of the browser window ?
Does RISINC allow the option to replace it with a tasteful BMP or JPG
file that maybe will tell you something about the database (and not
about the program that runs the database)?
Another, even more decent (i.e. smaller) logo of risinc could then
perhaps be placed in a corner so that they get their free paid for
advertising anyway ....?
Sincerely
Hanno V.J.Kolbe

Hi Bob,
I couldn't agree with your last statement more. We essentially do not support
users trying to make HTML changes to the RWP interface. That does not mean
you can't and in fact the statement might have been too strong. The RIS
link I think is the only thing the company is truly concerned about and .cgi
script which is our own intellectual property. The look and feel of the site
should be customizable to your own and I know that this is a big
consideration
for the future of RWP. If you want alter the buttons and tables or rearrange
the interface there is nothing that we can do to stop you however if it
were to
cause problems for the .cgi, Tech Support will simply tell you to change the
interface back. That being said, go crazy. Also I wouldn't mind seeing what
your website looks like after you're done with it. Finally, I would steer
clear of client or server-side scripting languages as they are liable to
interfere with our Export Utility which allows web clients to bring the data
down into their Reference Management products.
Thank you,
Ryan

Hohoho ..hoho.!!!!
Bob, how did you dare!
I know,.... the young generation (have 2 specimen myself at home)
prefers to identify with "just do it" (and think about it later) logos
on their T-shirts, or for those who can't read, a boomerang kind of
thingy....I just got a splendid idea: Every document printed out with
WORD should have printed Microsoft Corp. across the upper half of the
document !
Dear RisInc members of the list,
please look of the decent way which is used by the NetObject FUSION
(website design program) people: there is a 5 mm x 5 mm logo in the
bottom left corner serving as link on a newly created website. And if
you can't even accept that you can remove it without a problem.
That's what I call style.
Thanks for sharing this conversation, Bob !
Sincerely
Hanno V.J.Kolbe
