Dear Maple User,
I found an updated comparison of the programs
GAUSS, Maple, Mathemnatica, Matlab, MuPAD, 0-Matrix, Ox, Scilab and S-Plus
at
http://www.scientificweb.de/ncrunch/index.html
from Stefan Steinhaus.
I have some doubts that such a comparision of numeric/statistical tools and CAS is very
sensefull, however, one could use this test to compare (at least the numerical aspects of)
the CAS Maple, Mathematica and MuPAD.
At first glance there seem to be some odds concerning Maple.
Although stated, I doubt that Maple 8 was used for testing, since (e.g.) the triple
integration call would not run with Maple 8.
When I looked at the performance tests (algebra) I found that very simple optimizations
lead to significant better performance.
I would be happy to receive some comments on that "comparison".
Tom
