[MUG] non-executable standard math
Author: Ross Spencer    Posted: 12/10/2000 17:03:53 GDT
>> From: Ross Spencer

Hi, this is Ross Spencer at Brigham Young University.
We have a Maple 6 site license, so we use it on many
platforms, and there seems to be a serious problem
with Maple on our Dec Alpha workstations. When
documenting a worksheet and trying to insert non-
executable standard math (Ctrl-r) the code for the
math expression appears in the box on the toolbar,
but when Return is pressed nothing is inserted and
the expression in the box disappears. We have also
installed Maple 6.01 and the same problem occurs
in this version. There is no problem with Maple 5.
Does anyone know how to work around this?

Thanks
Ross Spencer

Product Reviews

"Without the Maple software, we would have to spend weeks generating the equations of motion for every experiment. Then the chances that we did it right would basically be near zero. There would always be a mistake somewhere. It is very difficult to set up a dynamic motion model by hand."
- Jean-Claude PiedBeouf, Ph.D Manager of Robotics, Canadian Space Agency

"Its very good - highly accurate and easy to use. The speed of Maple allows me to change equations and quickly reintegrate them into the application, so more possibilities can be explored to achieve the precise effect desired."
Shawn Neely, Senior R & D Director for PDI/Dreamworks
