[MUG] Re: printing plots with G-4

Hy

I am about to install Yellow Dog Linux on my new G4 Cube, so it is very
assuring to read that Maple runs well in Mac on Linux. However, Mac on
Linux is an emmulator, doesn't Maple run much slower?

Also: plots generated with Maple V R5.1 and Maple 6 on a G4 tower and the
G4 Cube print well in Ink Jet printers (I've tried it in an Epson Stylus
600 and a Cannon BJ-something), whereas on laser printers the cursed black
rectangle appears. I had the color settings to 256 and did not try printing
with thousands or million colors.

I am in no mood to change Open GL extensions, I think it is up to WMI to
generate a patch to correct this nasty bug !!

Product Reviews

"Without the Maple software, we would have to spend weeks generating the equations of motion for every experiment. Then the chances that we did it right would basically be near zero. There would always be a mistake somewhere. It is very difficult to set up a dynamic motion model by hand."
- Jean-Claude PiedBeouf, Ph.D Manager of Robotics, Canadian Space Agency

"Its very good - highly accurate and easy to use. The speed of Maple allows me to change equations and quickly reintegrate them into the application, so more possibilities can be explored to achieve the precise effect desired."
Shawn Neely, Senior R & D Director for PDI/Dreamworks
