On Windows, you can select the OLE Object item from the Insert menu.
This allows you to insert, among many other things, either a Paint
bitmap or (if you have Word) a Word picture. I just tried both and they
seem to work. I also insert Equation Editor objects frequently. But
you may find that you cannot export them to anything other than a
printer or print file.

I have used it for tensor analysis of deformation and then I made Figures
(not FBD) using Powerpoint. This can be included as OLE objects in window.
Maybe it is possible to use OLE for other drawing programs also.
Unfortunately, the figures dissappears when moving to other platforms.

While we have here xfig and some microsoft tools to draw (including
Corel Draw) I am using Maple to draw my pictures. I find it very
powerful although it is far from perfection.

Herman.

Product Reviews

"Without the Maple software, we would have to spend weeks generating the equations of motion for every experiment. Then the chances that we did it right would basically be near zero. There would always be a mistake somewhere. It is very difficult to set up a dynamic motion model by hand."
- Jean-Claude PiedBeouf, Ph.D Manager of Robotics, Canadian Space Agency

"Its very good - highly accurate and easy to use. The speed of Maple allows me to change equations and quickly reintegrate them into the application, so more possibilities can be explored to achieve the precise effect desired."
Shawn Neely, Senior R & D Director for PDI/Dreamworks
