There are many patterns that can be generated by smartplot2d.
Try some:
> smartplot[x,y](1/x+y=tan(x-y));
> smartplot[y,x](1/x+y=tan(x-y));
> smartplot[x,y](1/(x+y)=tan(x*y)) # cool fractal;
> smartplot[x,y](1/(x+y)=cos(x*y)) # very pretty!;
> smartplot[x,y](1/(x-y)=tan(x*y)) # very pretty too!;
