Hello Mahavir,
Numerical solution of PDEs is new to Maple 8 (i.e. was not available in earlier
versions).
There may be external packages that can numerically solve PDEs in earlier
versions of Maple, and PDEplot in the PDEtools package is available in earlier
versions as well (very good for viewing solutions of first order PDE via the
characteristic strip method - see ?PDEtools), but numerical PDE solving as part
of Maple is not available in earlier versions.
