Hello,
One of my colleagues in the Physics Department is interested in using
Maple to plot data in real-time. In particular he wants to collect data
from a seismograph and import it into Maple and display it in real-time.
It seems to me that Maple is the wrong tool for the job, but is it
possible to do this? Has anyone done anything along these lines?

Hello,
My advice would be to use Labview 6i.
Use Maple for symbolic manipulation of the data acquired by Labview.
You can use interprocess communications, TCP/IP or databases to
exchange the data.
Robolab is a cheap alternative to Labview.
http://www.natinst.com or just search for Labview and Robolab using Google.
