The imports are done from the Insert menu. Then select Object, and then
Create from File.

Yes, RTF is not useful for source code, but it can be a useful way to get
formatted text into the text fields of a worksheet. Indeed, if you select
Create New instead of Create from File, then you can get your favorite
editor to pop up.

Nonetheless, to make a quick slideshow or poster presentation, I sometimes
find it useful to format the equations and plots in Maple and then put on
the finishing touches with Word. It doesn't work very well, but sometimes
it is quicker than using Latex or PowerPoint.
