Hello,
How does one change the output display to character notation? In
Maple 7, the Options Menu had a place to do that, and I can't find a
reference to the change anywhere.
Thanks
Carl

I assume that you want to know how to do it in Maple 8. The Options
menu has been moved to File -> Preferemces. Click File -> Preferences,
then wait an unacceptably long time for the Java applet to load, then
click I/O display, and I'm sure that you can figure it out from there.

You could use:

Is that what you are looking for?

In Maple 8, the Options menu has been replaced by File / Preferences.
Tab I/O display has what you are looking for.
In all versions, you can still use interface(prettyprint=1);

I think you are asking where to do this in Maple 8.
In Maple 8, select File, Preferences..., and then the tab on the folder
marked I/O Display. You'll then have options you can select. In the
Windows version what you change here seems to make changes in the file
maple8.ini located in the Users directory under Maple 8

try ..
menu 'File'
submenu 'Preferences..'
select the 'I/O Display' tab
under 'Output Display' select 'Maple Notation'
I believe that is what you want.
