Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve the following problem in
MathCad?
I have an X-Y plot consisting of several separate closed polygonal shapes
(each defined as a list of x,y points) with many of the polygons overlapping
each other. Any of the polygons may have internal angles which are greater
than 180deg. I need to find the list of x,y points (including any
intersection points) which bounds all of the polygons on the plot and thus
combines their composite outline to form a single polygon.
This sort of thing is done routinely in graphics programs (e.g. Visio) and
so must be a fairly common problem, probably with a fast and elegant
solution - as opposed to the current slow and crude method I am using at the
present time.
Any suggestions or references etc. would be very useful.
Regards,
Bob Garner
