We're using XP Professional, Version 5.1.2600
Computer is a Pentium 4, 3.40 GHz, 1Gig of RAM
We're an Engineering firm trying to keep up...

happens in Mathcad 12 too, eh? Hmmm. What OS are you using?
Interesting that you used Backspace instead of Delete. That would never
have occurred to me. I tried both flavours of blue right-angled cursor
with Backspace and Delete. Backspace works with both flavours. You've
seen the consequence of using Delete with one flavour... and as I
posted in reply to Mark Smith, trying to use Delete with the other
flavour just "reverses flavour polarity" for me (his mileage varied,
evidently). It's been so long since I had to refer to the manual that
you've got me wondering now if Backspace is the way I'm supposed to
Delete things (albeit even if it is, hitting Delete shouldn't have such
catastrophic results). I'm going to check.
