There is a problem with some versions (certainly V11) with the way that
licence management is handled. The licence management is viewed as a
separate "session" by vista and it won't let "sessions" talk to each other
for security reasons (e.g. viruses), so the licence never gets released to
the programme!
Steen Grode had some information that could help you understand what Vista
is doing and what may be needed to get past Vista's 'protection' features.

I wasn't very optimistic when I tried to install Mathcad 2001i on a pc
with Vista - The installation went ok, but I had the
following message when I tried to open MathCad: "you must unload the
debugger before you run this program" - This seems to indicate
that there is something I can do to make Mathcad work, but of course I
have no idea what this debugger is and how to "unload" it.
I realize this debugger problem may be fatal - it's just that I feel
tantalizingly close !
I would be most welcome if anybody had a though on this question .
