Alberto,
Click on the result of your equation and you will see a black box to the left
of the result. This box is for specifying how units will be displayed. Click on
the box and type N*m. Click outside the box or hit enter. The units will now be
displayed in Newton-meters. If you enter W*s in the units box, you get Watt-
seconds.
If you type part of the units of the result in the box, Mathcad will supply the
rest. For example, if you type m, Mathcad will fill in the N. If you type ft,
it will fill in 3.281*N.
You can define your own units in terms of fundamental units, and Mathcad will
handle those as well.
This is one of the handiestt features of Mathcad, especially when you have to
enter data using a combination of metric and English units.
If NASA had been using Mathcad a few years ago, they might not have crashed a
probe on Mars as a result of mismatched units in their calculations.

Thank you Bryce for your help.
I have tried your suggestion, but I didn't be able to solve my problem.
I send you a mcad 2001i example.
Alberto.

Alberto,
You need to type your desired units into the units
box for each equation that displays a result.
I have attached a modified version of your file.
If you don't enter your desired units, the
default units will be used.

Alberto,
You can also force Mathcad to return base units instead of units like
Joule, etc.
Under the Format menu option, pick Result, then the tab Unit Display, and
then UNCHECK "Simplify Units When Possible".
In my opinion, the Simplify Units When Possible feature can be dangerous.
One example is if you redefine the unit of Hz to be
Hz = 2 Pi rad/sec (when a mechanical engineer would expect), the Simplify
Units feature will not recognize this and will output results assuming Hz
= 1 / sec.
This type of error can be very dangerous since it causes an error orf more
than 6 (which is huge for a frequncy in mechanical eng.).
I wish that Mathsoft would make the DEFAULT be that this feature was
unchecked.
Maybe someday!

Thank you Bryce and Ted,
I have used the Bryce solution and I think is quite ok for me. I agree with
Ted's observations. I think the problem is that, sometimes, mathcad treats
angular quantities as dimensionless. This is not only a mathcad problem;
perhaps a radical solution could be introducing a new dimension, angular
dimension, in the fundamental dimension system, but I think this can be done
only by mathcad authors.
Happy New Year,
Al.
