I always buy AMD just to provide competition to Intel. I run mathcad 11 on
an AMD Athlon XP laptop. This is not 64 bits. I did have to cut the
graphics acceleration way down to make mathcad happy, but I think this was a
graphics card issue. No problems except that. I bought my son a laptop with a 64 bit AMD processor, and he has not had problems with it but he is not runing mathcad. He is a music major, and runs some pretty sophisticated sampler programs (Giga
Studio) on it without problems.
