Dear Users,
I read with interest the e-mail from Craig Gordon. We haven't upgraded yet
(to either XP or to Endnote 5). I would appreciate hearing both the good and
the bad experiences before we do upgrade to Endnote 5.
Those that have upgraded:
How does the traveling library work?
And how does the cite while you write work out?
Basically is the upgrade worth it?

Endnote 5 is great forsearching anddownloading from pubmed and other sources
except its search has very limited options nothing like the nice options
available in most of the libraries
The cite while you work is a bit of a pain.. It is hard to work around if
you don't want to be bothered with the slight delay this provide and you
should have a fast machine with lots of memory before choosing this option
..
I am not entirely pleased with endnote 5 It needs some more polish and has
a
couple of annoying bugs...

Dear Leanne
I tried the trial version of EN 5, and found that it removed the taskpane
from Office XP at startup of Word. I can open the taskpane as a separate
action, but had already come to use it quite happily.
Removal of EN did not restore the immediate availability of the TaskPane,
and removal then re-install of Word did not help.
Will presumably need to re-install Office at some time, or accept the small
inconvenience.
Running Windows Me.
I didn't have a chance to try all the EN facilities before the trial
expired. It appeared to function as promised in being able to be operated
from within Word, which seems a great advantage.
I notified EN technical support folk of the problem, and they were to pass
the information on to their software team. Don't know whether a change will
be made.
Best wishes
Dianne Moses
