I know that this problem has been discussed a number of times in the past
but with no archive to search through . . . .
I have both MSWord 2000 and MSWord 97 installed on my windows 95 PC with
EN4. Originally when I started up MSword 2000 I got the message that a
duplicate add-in for endnote was already installed. My understanding was
that I needed to remove the
ENWord32.wll file from \Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup\
directory. I have done this and now I get the message "Endnote is too new
for this add-in" when I click on the "go to endnote" command in MSword 2000.
Did I remove the wrong file? How do I fix this.
Thanks,
Peter

Hi,
Well, the problem is just as the error message says, the add-in file
you currently have installed in the Word startup-folder(s) is too old
for EndNote 4 - probably an EndNote 3 add-in. What you have to do is
to make sure Word access the EndNote 4 Add-in. Here's what you have
to do:
Mac:
In the EndNote 4 folder you will find a folder named "Microsoft Word
Add-in". In this folder there is a copy of the "EndNote Word Add-in"
file. Copy this file to the Word startup folder, replacing any old
version you find there.
Win:
In the EndNote 4 directory you find a copy of the file
"ENWord32.wll". Copy this file to the appropriate Word startup
folder(s) replacing any old version(s) you find there.
That's it.
Best regards
