Hi
I just checked v. X1 on Windows XP and I'm seeing an ongoing increase in
memory as I access EndNote features.
I started EndNote, they did ctrl+alt+delete to get to Task Manager. Then
I went to the Processes tab and looked at EndNote.exe in the list.
It started out using about 17,000 K. Right now, after opening a few
records and adding a citation in Word, it's at 46,912 K.
Stats for a few more uses
Well, without doing anything, 47,844 K
Now at EndNote window 50,332 K
Open an item 54,752 K
Close an item after a minute 55,432 K
Closed Word, 56,940 K (so less memory--hmm, I may not have recorded an
increase before this statement)
Close a record in Endnote 57,740 K
It seems to increase without doing any action and also when opening or
closing items.
Now at 62,088 and I've had EndNote open probably about 15 minutes.
Will send a copy of this email to technical support.
Have a nice day

Hi Folks,
Apologies if this has been addressed before. Has anyone else noticed
what a memory hog X1 is? It's chewing up 120 Mb of my RAM - that's
totally ridiculous for a relatively simple program such as endnote. I
don't even have much open - just a few libraries with less than 50
references each. Adobe Photoshop, video editing software, high-end
games, simulators, etc - I can understand. But endnote? This is the
worst case of software bloat I've come across in my decades of
involvement with computers. Wow. Anyone know if this is on ISI's
radar?
Thanks,
Allie
