An advantage to going through the extra step is that you can name and
categorize the articles in a way that makes sense to *you*. When I
download PDF articles, I rename them in author-date format (i.e.,
"Nahkola & Saanilahti 2004.pdf"), and place them in a subfolder of
c:\articles\ (which I created specifically for holding PDFs of
articles), so the article I gave as an example got put in
c:\articles\post-vernacular change\.

This makes it much easier to find an article I have when I don't have
Endnote running.
