RE: Possible to download PDF with citation and abstract?
Author: Leanne    Posted: Mon, 19 Nov 2007 12:06:12 -0500
You need to find or subscribe to a database that has your published materials. Some publisher websites allow you to download the citation in a format that is compatible with endnote, some directly to endnote. Google Scholar has a facility to download the citations, for example. Pubmed for science is a great resource, the database has a URL link to the publishers website, where they allow you to download the pdf. However many publishers require that you have a subscription service to access the pdf's or purchase them individually. With the current software, you need to separately download the PDF to your computer, and then link it to the record citation you have already gotten into you library- easiest way in EndNoteX/X1 is dragging and dropping it on the record in the library list.

Hope that helps.

Subject: Possible to download PDF with citation and abstract?

I'm new to EndNote and have searched the manual and online FAQs, etc., and I haven't found any indication of being able to download PDFs along with the citations and abstracts from online databases. So I'm turning to all you wonderful experienced people to ask...

Is it possible to download PDFs with the citations and abstracts?

TIA. Your help is much appreciated.
