When I open EndNote, it keeps opening in full screen mode. Is there a
way to have it remember the windows settings from a previous session? I
am using EndNote 8.0.1 on Windows XP with Service Pack 2.

According to the Endnote help file and manual, Endnote remembers the
position of your *library* and *reference* windows; nothing is said about
remembering the position of the actual *application* window.
Mine also (same configuration: XP Pro Sp2 and En.8.0.1) regularly starts
maximized (which is, I presume, what you meant by "full screen mode"), and
does not even save "restored" size across sessions. (Despite the manual
and help files, Endnote definitely does *not* remember the positions of my
library and reference windows either). Setting a shortcut to start the program
minimized doesn't even work, nor any of the other normal tricks, like
"Start /MIN my_library.enl" at the command prompt... Endnote opens
maximized regardless.
In other words, I think the answer to your question is probably "no." I'll
try to copy this message to product suggestions, and send another post to
this list if they tell me I'm wrong.
On top of being frustrating (if you like your desktop set up in a particular
way), this is disappointing simply because it's a feature which is not
difficult to code.
