Formatting citations and bib in Word 2002 (XP)
Author: Jens Gerbitz    Posted: Wed, 14 Nov 2001 17:55:18 -0700
Hello all,

I'm trying (desperately) to format citations and bibs without using the
CWYW feature. After having dragged and dropped all the required refs
into my paper (EN temporary format), I save and close the word file
(with the w/processor still running), go to EN and choose 'scan paper'
from the paper submenu as per instructions in the book. However, at
this point, I run into an error message from Word 2002 that says: "To
format this paper, open it in Word and choose the 'format bibliography'
command from Word's Tools menu". In other words, the Matches window
doesn't come up at this point as it should, I think. Is this an
incompatibility issue with Word 2002 (office XP), and if so, is there a
fix? I'm using EN 5.

Thanks in advance,

The way it works, is that even with cwyw off, you still use the format
Bibliography from the endnote menu in word (at least in word 2000). I don't
think the capability of formatting outside endnote has been possible, unless
you first save the paper as a rtf.
