Library of Congress (LoC) Connection Failure

Hello,
After months of no problems with the LoC Connection, today the following
message was received upon a failed attempt to connect:
"Error Searching for records. Message from remote Z39.50 server:
Unsupported attribute combination. Endnote's Interpretation of the
problem: An unsupported attribute combination has been specified. Check
the connection file for incorrect Search Attributes."
Nothing has changed on my PC since last successfully connecting to the
LoC 48 hours ago.
Nonetheless I again downloaded and installed the LoC connection file
from EndNote's URL at http://www.endnote.com/support/enconnections.asp.
Still the connection failed.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

In response to the posting below, I have just tried my EndNote connection to
the Library of Congress, and it is working fine...better than usual in fact,
since it's actually letting me consistently into the server on the first
attempt. (The LC server can often get crowded and it'll just freeze there
for minute or two in EndNote before alerting that it cannot make a
connection).
Your message is not specific in describing the exact keyword search criteria
used (author, title, series, etc.) that returned the error message, but it
sounds like one or more of the criteria you chose may be unsupported. I
have seen this occur with other connection files: a pull-down choice on the
EndNote connection file's search menu, such as "series keyword", may be
right there, but if you try to send it to the remote server it turns out to
be an unsupported criteria.
I suggest you try a search with "simpler" criteria like the default "Any
Field" for the Library of Congress connection file, and then start paring it
down from there.

The "About this connection" panel of the LC connection file contains
the URL for LC's Z39.50 server documentation:
http://lcweb.loc.gov/z3950/lcserver.html
If you go to EndNote's Window menu and choose "Show Connection Status"
you will be able to see a more detailed translation of the messages
and responses between your EndNote client and LC's server. These may
help you pinpoint exactly where the mismatch occurs.
This assumes, of course, that you are actually able to connect to LC's
overburdened server.
A standardization movement, with the unlikely name "Bath Profile" is
attempting to address a large hole in the Z39.50 standard, such that
all servers (and clients) can be certified to meet a standardized
functional benchmark. Don't hold your breath though, as the changes
involve large groups, and take forever to actually be implemented.
