how to number automatically references in all the library ?
I would like to add automatically a number label in the label field (the
number from 1 to the last reference, sorted by alphabethic sorting).
Is it possible ?
thanks

no, but you could sort them and drag into a new library, which will give
them a record number in that order.

If you really want a numbered bibliography ProCite has this option, so
if ehough people ask Thomson the feature just might turn up in EndNote

If you want a numbered bibliography, modify a copy of the numbered style
to sort entries by author. Numbers are added (to your document) when
formatting your bibliography.
If you want numbers throughout your library, this is stored in the
record number field. It is not possible to modify these numbers.
