Hi all,
I have EndNote 9.01, Windows Vista Home Basic, and Word 2003. After
manually installing the EndNote toolbar for Word, I was getting the
error message "Invalid class string".
I had tried running EndNote and then closing it before trying to use the
toolbar. I restarted the computer many times. I re-installed both
EndNote and Word, and even downloaded a demo of Word 2007, but no luck.
I have the only account, which is an Administrator account, on my
laptop.
I tracked the problem down to a missing key in the windows registry.
The solution was to right click on the EndNote program, and "Run as
administrator". I only had to do this once. I can now run Endnote
normally and the toolbar works fine in Word. What a relief.
I'm posting this here in case others have the same problem.
