Hi
I am using EndNote 7 and Word 2000. I have two problems.
1. However I try EndNote does not allow me to insert a suffix nor a prefix,
i.e. I can put it in with the "edit reference" option as well as the page
range but EndNote does never show the prefix or the suffix, only the page
range. It stays in the field in the "Edit Reference" but is not displayed
with the footnote text.
2. I cannot use the ALT key to insert references, instead I have to use the
icon on the tool bar, I used EndNote 4 before and never had a problem using
the ALT key.
I hope you have some solutions.

For the first problem, since it appears you want this to happen in the
footnote, you need check how your footnotes are being formatted. If it is
"like bibliography" or format "as footnote", it won't work, since the
suffix/prefix option in the edit citation box refers to the in-text citation
templates. You may want to ask for this option to the endnote suggestions
web page. So, I suspect that your only other option, is to place it after
the endnote insertion at the end of the footnote, as real text.
Check your Tools/Templates and Add-ins from word. You should also check that
the appropriate EN7CWYW.dot and EN7cwyw.wll (not the EN7cwyw.WordXP.wll)
files showing in the and checked? Also, did you (or your IT people) by any
chance, download the new .dot file? The new dot file only works for WordXP
and 2003. You need the original for Endnote/Word 2000. (I think the
original dot file is about 50kb and dated 6/2003 and the newer one is 76kb,
at least on my system). Why they didn't name them differently, I do not
know.)
