Opinions on upgrading Endnotes 3.0 to 4.0?
Author: David Lees    Posted: 25/05/2000 16:50:40 GDT
I imagine this has been covered, but I am a casual Endnotes 3.0 user (on
a PC) trying to decide if it is worth upgrading to 4.0. I only use the
program a few times a year and have fairly small collections (a few
hundred references each). I do use PubMed over the net and find the
ability to download references a great features.

Feel free to either reply directly or post to the list-server.

Thanks,

David Lees (self employed optical engineer)

Hi David,

I think upgrading to EN4 would be worthwhile, even for a casual user. The
main reason is that the interface is considerably better (Mac & PC), and
therefore easier to remeber the "how-to's" especially if you're not an
everyday user. This is especially so if you're a PC user because the
interface now conforms better to the windows GUI standard. As such it is
easier to find and use functions for someone who is used to the windows
environment, because they are in the places a windows user would expect and
behave as you expect (it also has right mouse button support too :-). EN3 is
considerably more odd clunky in it's interface behaviour.

So in general...your job will be alot easier when you get around to your
occassional usage of endnote. You might even find that as a result, that you
use it more.
