Yes, compatibility with Pages was added in version X2. But if you are going to upgrade, I recommend getting the most recent version. Also from forum discussions, the integration is not as flexible as integration with Word.

Thanks Leanne, Unfortunately my university only supports X1, I will try and get a copy of X2 from IT otherwise it will be back to working in word :(
