Dear EndNote Windows Users,
We are pleased to let you know development of our next version of
EndNote is progressing rapidly, and it is almost time for beta testing
the Windows edition! The purpose of this posting is to provide you with
an opportunity to apply to be a beta tester. We anticipate beta testing
will begin late this month and will conclude in mid-May.
EndNote Macintosh users, please be patient! We anticipate recruiting
EndNote for Macintosh testers in mid-May.
Operating systems supported for EndNote Windows will be XP with SP2 and
Vista. Supported word processors are Word XP, Word 2003 and Word 2007.
Format Paper will support .rtf files created using WordPerfect versions
11, 12 and 13, WordPad and OpenOffice versions 1 and 2.x. Format Paper
also supports Open Document Type (.odt) files.
We especially need testers who utilize non-English versions of Word
and/or operating systems. Requirements for beta testers include:
Owning a registered copy of EndNote X or later or being an authorized
user at an institution with a site license. We will not include users of
the Demo product in beta testing.
Having prior experience beta testing recent versions of EndNote if
possible. We regret that we cannot provide technical support during the
testing cycle (except for new features), so you must have a good grasp
of EndNote's features and functionality to be a beta tester.
Being available to test during the entire cycle.
Availability of a computer running one of the supported operating
systems.
If you meet these criteria and would like to apply to be a beta tester,
please fill out and submit the beta tester application at
http://www.endnote.com/testing. We will then contact you regarding your
eligibility. Beta testers may be awarded a complimentary copy of the
released version of EndNote. Complimentary copies are sent out at the
discretion of the EndNote Team and are based on quality of feedback and
extent of participation.
Thank you for your support of EndNote and we look forward to hearing
from you soon!
Regards,
The EndNote Team
