Hi
I've received a request for help with an EndNote library that has been
corrupted. I'm just at the initial stages of involvement and don't have
all information. Does anyone have any recommendations?
5-6 year old library was corrupted (maybe involving being moved). What
can we do to correct?
Using EndNote X on PC's accessing libraries on a Mac server
Links from EndNote to PDF attachments were broken when the folder
containing the PDF folder was moved to another location.
We can no longer access or retrieve entries in the original EndNotes
library after it was moved from one share drive to another on our Mac
server.
Have a nice day

Yes. Get all the information. The first item being -- why can't they
just restore the library from the backup?

<http://www.endnote.com/support/faqs/Database/faq3.asp>

If they were absolute paths, then, according to the User's Guide:
"[...] if you ever move the file from the original folder, EndNote will
not be able to access it unless you clear the PDF file from your
EndNote reference and reinsert it from the new folder location."
However, if all PDFs were in the same folder, I'd use Change Text on the
Link to PDF field to change the path globally.
