Thanks, John, that fixed the double commas in in-text citations. I was
unaware of the upgrade.
Another question. I've previously updated my APA 5th style to allow for
some changes (like adding in an allowance for electronic sources of many
different types of documents - reports, etc.). I saved a copy of my APA
5th style file (under a different name) before running the upgrade. Can
anyone tell me whether the upgrade would have made changes to the APA
5th style file or to the program itself? I'm just wondering if I'm safe
to use my version of the style file now, or whether I need to amend one
that came with the upgrade.
Thanks,
Tammy.

I thought that this problem was fixed by the EndNote 9.0.1 patch for
Windows.
Have you installed it? Available at:

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing difficulties with EndNote
9 and APA 5th. Since upgrading from EndNote 7, I'm having problems with
multiple citations from the same author, so that I get two commas
instead of one: (Little, 1990, , 1992, , 2003; Spencer, 2000) etc. I
have EndNote set to leave out the name of repeated authors and to use
commas between multiple citations of the same author. Changing either of
these appears to make no difference. I think that the Citations >
Templates that comes with the program is different to the template that
I had before. Is it me or is it the program?
