Hello Rafael,

How files are named strictly depends on what you think is important.
The year, author, theme, s.no. etc. use these in terms of your priority
and convenience.

Regarding Jikon's question: "There are three things I'm interested in
knowing:
(1) how files are named
(2) how files are organised/saved on the computer (Windows)"

This is what I do. You know every item in your EndNote library gets a
serial #. I basically use this number as the file name ( "#409.pdf"
). In the label field, I enter 'pdf #409' (if it were a hardcopy, I'd
enter 'paper #409'). Then I link the library entry to the soft copy of
the paper. I'd don't really see the advantage of storing the papers
'in' EndNote, but someone else might be able to explain some advantages.
