Endnote flags non-bibliographic text that's formatted in square

Hi, everyone,

I'm using Endnote X on Windows XP with Word 2007 and Word 2003.

I suspect that this is related to instant formatting in CWYW but I'm not
sure. If you can help, please let me know.

When I open a Word file that contains an Endnote-generated bib, a window
pops up asking me to provide info about missing citations or what
Endnote thinks are missing citations. In actuality, what's being found
and questioned is non-bibliographic text that I've placed between square
brackets. Is there a way to configure Endnote NOT to display this
message? Is it just a matter of turning off instant formatting or is
this the work of some other setting?

Also, when I share that document with someone who does not have Endnote,
will they see that same query about bracket-delimited text? (I'm curious
about that because sometimes I get a message telling me that Endnote is
waiting for user information. Please go to the Endnote program. " Is
this related to instant formatting as well and do non-Endnote users see
such messages?)

Thanks for your help.
Barbara
