RE: Combining all libraries & using groups?
Author: Leanne    Posted: Wed, 30 Jan 2008 12:02:59 -0500
Be careful what you wish for! They are completely different at the
backend - using different structures. NONE OF US would be happy - trust
me. Since they all have their own user base. Each has its strengths and
weaknesses. Combining them into one project would just mean there was
no choice to customers as to which strengths are most important to them,
and which weaknesses they just cannot tolerate.

In fact, I am not sure they are doing much with ProCite. The only Mac
product ISI seems to be supporting is EndNote, so that appears to be the
most likely direction, although I think both Ref Man like Endnote are
still upgraded (new product for purchase) every year. Both are on
version 11 and procite is only version 5.

Also, it sounds like ISI should merge their endnote, procite and
reference manager product lines, eh? Hard to see the point of having 3
semi-functional products out there, when they could have one fully
functional one...
