Hello Antonia:
Many thanks for getting back to me. I've downloaded the CINAHL filter
(dated 10/7/2005) and have tried again -- with total success.
So easy when you know how!
I'll make sure that our EndNote trainers and users are aware of the need
to download this filter to improve the EndNote-CINAHL connection.
Kind regards for your prompt and extremely helpful response!
Best wishes,
Mary

Dear Mary,
Thank you for contacting WK Health Technical Support and I am really
sorry for the time taken to get back to you with regards to your query
below.
Would you let me know what process are you following to export citations
from Ovid to EndNote for the Cinahl database?
I have just tested it with EndNote X and I had no problems.
Have you got the latest EndNote Filter? Please note that this would need
to be downloaded from EndNote http://www.endnote.com/
Should you still have problems please let me know.
Kind regards
Antonia

Subject: CINAHL (Ovid) filter and the CINAHL database
Hello everyone ... and a belated Happy New Year!
In November 2005, Beth Morrison of the BC Cancer Agency Library reported
to the list problems with CINAHL (Ovid) and EndNote. We've found the
same problem here at MMU and wonder if any work is being done by OVID
and EndNote to resolve it.
Medline (OVID) also puts data relating to volume, issue, pages, etc into
one field (Source) but the Direct Export filter is able to cope and
transfers the data into the correct fields within an EndNote reference.
Perhaps it's just a matter of adjusting the Direct Export filter for
CINAHL (something that can't be done by us, the users) so that some sort
of trigger (punctuation marks?) identify the fields that data in the
Source Field should be sent to? or does the structure of the CINAHL
database need amending so that it uses the same punctuation as Medline
does within the Source Field?
Best wishes,
Mary Harrison
